About me

I’m Cammy, aka “Hammy”, and I was born and raised in Sacramento, California. I moved to Europe in my 20s where I stumbled on my favorite person and convinced him we should marry. We wanted to start building a family immediately, but quickly learned that getting and staying pregnant would be a hard battle. Infertility presents a lonely and sticky journey that very few people know how to navigate — no matter which side of the road you’re on.

This blog is a place for me to share the things I rarely tell others. It is a space for purging, crying, pounding the keyboard, and sharing brutal honesty.  Secondarily, this site is for you – the loving, curious soul who is not fertiley-challenged, but knows someone who is and wonders what she feels. Thank you for reading! Thank you for caring.

Our Assisted reproductive technology (ART) Medical Journey: 6 IUI with hormone stimulation, 18 IVF Fresh Cycles (…15 retrievals, 8 with ICSI), 4 FET cycles, 1 pregnancy that ended at 8 weeks, and 2 chemicals. Altogether a pricey $hit-ton of treatment culminating in 1 live birth. Baby boy born full-term by c-section July 2016. Blessed by our miracle! We are continuing treatment with more rounds of IVF to hopefully complete our family.

My diagnosis: Poor egg quality, endometriosis diagnosed during lap surgery, hypothyroidism, elevated FSH, and POA. Through IVF stimulation, we can retrieve between 5-8 eggs; they largely present fragmentation and delayed growth after fertilization.

We are considering: Continuing IVF/ICSI with Freeze-All Protocol. AUGMENT treatment by Ovascience, OvaPrime, Donor Eggs & adoption.

I just found your post titled “Tough Times” on Blushing Foreigner…it made me so SAD for you. Then I found this blog and read your post about being pregnant, but I am still listening to to Tough Times…so I am still crying. BUT, I wanted to tell you that my sister-in-law has 6 month old twins after 5 years of fertility treatments! I am glad you persevered! I really hope you keep up on your makeup videos because I have FOUR extremely pale daughters and we are clueless about good colors for pale skin! I have lupus so sometimes I am Very Low Energy so I research stuff. Right now I am researching lipstick shades for girls with NW15 coloring! Blessings! -Karen
